About Me

Donna Bridgewater, Photographer Birmingham, UK

Hi my name is Donna Bridgewater and I am the heart and soul creator of Bridgewater Photography. I first found my passion for Photography when I stumbled across a Photographer called Nan Goldin whilst studying Art at College. From that moment I picked up the camera and I loved to capture people.

I continued my Photography practise from College and went to study a BA Hons in Photography at Coventry University.  Shortly after, I decided to study Teaching at Warwick University. Since I have been teaching at Hereward College I have completed my Level 4 course in Specialist Education through Warwick University. This has helped me to learn different ways to work with people that suffer from learning and physical disabilities.

I now teach Photography and Mixed Media at on the Foundation Pathway at  Hereward College which is a specialist College in Coventry, since I have been at the college I have practised my knowledge and work with a range of disabilities, working with students that have ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome and many more physical and learning difficulties

I started the company with support from the Prince's Trust. In 2018 Bridgewater Photography was the Prince's Trust Regional Enterprise winner for the West Midlands. I was approached by the BBC for them to document me as a teacher and a photographer. This had media coverage also on Midlands Today and BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Radio.

What I love most about photography is capturing memories that people can treasure forever, that is what I continue to do with Bridgewater Photography for 2019.
